Macy’s Center City After attempting to steal goods from the Macy’s shop in Center City, a guy fatally stabbed one security guard and injured another, according to Philadelphia police.At roughly 11 a.m. on Monday, the ordeal started at the Macy’s on 13th and Market streets. According to the police, a security guard spotted the unidentified guy trying to steal headwear from the store and returned the merchandise.

Investigators said that when a second security guard, a 23-year-old man, attempted to step in, he was stabbed in the face and arm.After being transported to the hospital, the 30-year-old guard passed away from his wounds.The 23-year-old guard’s health is stable.

According to police, the suspect in the stabbings rushed from the scene and threw a knife onto the tracks on the Market-Frankford Line platform of the SEPTA. Later on, at the Somerset Station on Kensington Avenue in the Kensington section of the city, that person was taken into custody.Due to the incident, SEPTA stated that passengers must board all trains from the westbound platforms between the 15th and 8th Street stations.

After getting close to one security guard, he turned to face the other, took out a knife, and started stabbing him.After stepping in, the other guard was repeatedly stabbed.Police took both victims to the hospital, where at 11:19 a.m., one of them was declared dead.Action News is informed by police that the suspect abandoned a knife on SEPTA property before running away.

Witnesses positively identified the culprit when he was taken into custody at the Somerset station around midday, according to Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford.Stanford added that the guards are not armed and work for Macy’s.Although the guard’s name has not been made public, authorities have stated that the man was thirty years old when he was slain. He was stabbed in the neck and later died as a result.
